The cupola has a long and useful history from our earliest days. In colonial cities and towns cupolas stood atop meeting houses as homes for the bells that would ring out to announce important business or debate was about to begin, across the colonial countryside they provided barns, ice-houses and other farm buildings with vital ventilation, in dark lonely areas they housed lanterns designed to light the way and along the coast wealthy merchants would often build large cupolas on their homes so they could watch for their ships to return home from sea.
We Americans have always appreciated the cupola though not just for its function but also it’s beautiful form (not even the majestic dome of the US Capitol was considered complete without a cupola) which is why we offer seven different styles of stunning cupolas. Every one handcrafted to the highest standards for beauty and quality right here in the United States.
